We recognize that many Calgarians have a busy work schedule, such that taking several hours out of your workday to attend at a lawyer's office to obtain independent legal advice (ILA) is an inconvenience that most people would rather avoid. Instead, consider taking advantage of our mobile evening legal services (and occasional weekend mornings) and schedule an appointment, where we come to you, to have your independent legal advice meeting and complete all the required lawyer papers to attain your ILA Certificate.
The legal requirement of consulting with an independent lawyer and having that lawyer complete the ILA Certificate and associated legal paperwork cannot be circumvented, whether it is by imposition of the court process, Alberta Land Titles or a financial institution, the independent lawyer consultation and legal documentation must be completed to exacting specifications. And because most people have extremely busy schedules during the day, we welcome the opportunity to schedule a meeting at the end of the business day or early evening, especially given how my own personal schedule sees me being all around the city of Calgary at the end of the day and in the evening (as well as occasional weekend mornings).
